Morning Wood: Your Wednesday Links

Throwing some links to get you caught up on the fringes of the sports world while pondering if the President is too busy to realize he is the only person in America that filled out a women's tournament bracket:

  • After announcing season ticket holders will pay slightly more than double next year, New York Knicks unveil Carmelo billboard in times square. It reads: "To the City that Made Me. And the Game it Gave Me. Thanks." Creating the most buzz in Times Square since Cosmo Kramer's Marlboro Man.
  • Canadian fans are at it again. There will be a protest outside the Bell Center against hard hits or something. I'm pretty sure Canada invented hockey and now they are protesting against rules that they created. It would be like James Naismith protesting against the underhanded set-shot.
  • Adrian Woj absolutely crushing Commissioner Stern and his bestest incompetent, racist owner Donald Sterling. Great read.
  • We have a winner!!! Every labor dispute/contract negotiation, I always wait for the first retarded millionaire to invoke the "slavery" argument. Congrats, Adrian!
  • Turns out Petey was prophetic (don't get used to it). NFL lockout may have major ramifications for the chicken wing industry.
  • If you were thinking to yourself, "there has to be more to this Stephen Jackson story," you thought right. Might be his best work to date, and that is saying a lot.
  • Jason Whitlock exposes lauded Fab Five "documentary" as more fantasy than reality. Liked his argument about what would have happened if Duke had tried the same thing. Still, if you haven't seen it yet, its worth it just for the old footage, especially C-Webb in high school.
  • Shameless Boston Sports Plug: If you haven't seen it, you need to check out 4 Days In October. Amazing behind the scenes footage and goosebumps to go around for just about any baseball loving non-Yankee fan.
Get after it. Get out there and be Bob Sugar today:
