Tighten Up

Playoff season is here.  Grow your beards, get a little chippy on defense, and don't worry about those wild elbows.  Tis the season for everyone to tighten up a bit...

Calling on Cooperstown

Nice write up from SI.com by Paul Daugherty about Pete Rose deserving a spot in the Hall of Fame before the steroid era players, namely McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, A-Rod, Manny....who am I kidding...was I really about to type out 100+ names?

Speaking of stylish Oakland A's, a special tribute to Rollie Fingers today.  Last night Garbage Minutes found themselves at a neat little hidden dig in downtown Raleigh called Neptunes Parlour.  Hard to find, as it's in the basement of a building off the main drag.  Cool dingy set-up, good drinks, nice throwback music, a plethora of old school arcade games and best of all, $2 cans of Yuengling.

Mostly a hipster hot-spot, one guy was rocking the Rollie Fingers stash and rocking it quite well.  So much so that numerous people were asking to take a picture with him.  Not a bad move.  Here's to you, Mr. Fingers...

"It's actually a mix of WD-40, laundry detergent and crushed Jelly Beans.  Works great."
Who wore it better...Coco Crisp this week for the Oakland Athletics or Oscar Gamble during his reign with the Cleveland Indians from '73-'75?  Part of me wants to say Coco Crisp since I spent 15 minutes every week in the cereal aisle at the local grocery store looking for his brand of breakfast treats, while the other part of me thinks Oscar Gamble simply due to the fact he was once quoted as saying,"They don't think it be like it is, but it do."  You can't make this stuff up.

Free Lenny!!!!

Don't let the feds fool you, Lenny Dykstra is innocent. Free Lenny! Free Lenny!

I'm Getting There

I'm not jumping off the building yet, but I'm on my third panic attack and researching how to get to the roof.

Ridin' Dirty

If you had to choose, would you guess this is the vehicle of (1) a drug dealer in Little Rock, AR or (2) the #1 running back in the world? If you chose (1), you would be wrong. Chris Johnson, ladies and gentlemen.
