Today in Sports History

On April 4, 1983 six-seed N.C. State shocked Phi Slamma Jamma from Houston for the National Champion.  While this will forever be remembered for 1) A miraculous "alley-oop" at the buzzer and 2) Jim Valvano running around in disarray after the winning basket.  What is left out is 1) How did a team with Clyde Drexler and Akeem/Hakeem Olajuwon lose to a six seed and 2) Why wasn't Olajuwon boxing out Lorenzo Charles on that last second desparation three point attempt?
